The project is a 49.5 MW Wind farm, which is located on the north of Shouguang City , Shandong Province, People's Republic of China (PRC). The 49.5 MW wind farm will provide additional capacity to the Shandong Power Grid. The proposed project will be supplying reliable power to the Shouguang City that depends on daily import from the Weifang Power Grid, which is an important part of Shandong Power Grid.
The project will reduce 94,796 tons CO2 equivalent of anthropogenic emissions of GHGs annually by avoiding operation of existing thermal power plant and future expansion of fossil fuel-based generation by the regional Shandong power Grid in the North China Power Network. The proposed wind farm is considered under the CDM modalities as a renewable energy project.
